May 30 - June 3, 2016   |   Aurora Cultural Centre, Aurora, Ontario

The Five Day Pastel Conference is being organized by the Pastel Artists of Canada. There will be 25 sessions by accomplished Canadian pastel artists on many topics; using a limited palette and acrylic underpaintings; conquering colour and travel painting, and so much more. The sessions range from two hour demonstrations to half day or full day workshops by internationally known pastel artists. Spend five whole days (or even one!) learning about painting in pastels. For information about the conference and to register, go to this link: http://pastelartists.ca/contents/2016-ican-pastel-conference

I will be at the ICAN Pastel Conference participating in the following events:

FREE Plenary Event (No Registration Required)

Monday, May 30   |   11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.   |   Paint-A-Long

Award winning artists Christine Camilleri, Sharon Fox Cranston, Andrew McDermott, and Clarence Porter will co-paint four works within the hour. Each will start a work from her/his own resource photo, then take turns working on each others’ paintings until the time is up. The final paintings will be signed by all four artists and auctioned off during the remainder of the conference.

Clarence Porter: Painting the City

Wednesday, June 1   |   9 a.m. - 4 p.m.   |   WFW1 Full Day Workshop Session

Working with the smooth and angular shapes of sky, steel and cement, the "Painting the City" workshop will give you a glimpse into the possibilities of achieving exciting organic spaces with the brilliant colours of pastels. I will share the techniques and tricks I use to achieve my cityscapes. I'm looking forward to seeing you there!
